This Tuesday, several states will vote on marijuana laws that will change history and affect us all. No matter what the outcome - historic victories or very close losses that prove this is an issue to be taken seriously - we're going to need to seize the moment to keep moving legalization forward.
As the drug policy reform movement continues to grow, one of the most compelling and humanizing aspects of our cause is the sharing of stories. Through our narratives as drug war survivors, we relate to each other and to the world at large.
From the law enforcers who served on the front lines to those who struggle daily with the devastation prohibition has brought to their communities and their personal lives, these stories are the ties that bind us, and they need to be heard. That's why Law Enforcement Against Prohibition's speakers are taking action through Safekeepers, a video series profiling law enforcement professionals who know our drug laws need to change.
