King Solomon's Ashlars Lodge Makes Timely Donation

Members of the King Solomon's Ashlars Lodge and representatives of Captain Mulligan's made a timely donation to Special Olympics BVI (SOBVI) at the BVI Water Sports Centre yesterday.
The donation was derived from funds gained from a Graffiti Party - the Lodge's fundraising event which was held at Mulligan's. The donation is a timely one as SOBVI has set an ambitious goal to send a team and officials to the World Games which will be held in Athens, Greece in June.
The water competition will be held off the shore of Athens at the Schinias Sailing Academy, with the backdrop of an ancient Roman city where the games originally started.
Making the donation was Worshipful Master, Rhodni Skelton who said that the Lodge intends to donate a grand total of $1000, which will include a further donation during SOBVI's Mile of Quarters fundraising drive to be held soon.
"From the inception of the Special Olympics, we agreed that we will make this [SOBVI] one of our charities so we have helped them [previously] with the Mile of Quarters, annual fundraisers and now that they are heading off to Greece to compete in the World Games, we thought we would try our best to contribute," Skelton told the media.
He explained that some proceeds from the Graffiti Party will also go toward restoration plans for the Huntum's Ghut Recreation Park and a project to repaint the Pediatric Ward of the Peebles Hospital.
Skelton thanked Captain Mulligan's, the Ladies of SASS, Roadtown Wholesale, Royal Shop and Kenny Tees. He noted that Stafford Hall Court #205, a female body of the Prince Hall Masonry also ably assisted.
Randy George of Captain Mulligan's said that they were happy to provide assistance for the fundraiser. Captain Mulligan's has been involved in many other such projects.
Meanwhile, Head Coach Alison Knights Bramble thanked Skelton and all others who provided assistance. Bramble noted that since the formation of the SOBVI, they have been "wonderfully surprised by everybody in the society" who have made donations.
"We have a major event [World Games] coming up. It's an event that happens every four years. It's the largest sporting event in the world this year and it's in Greece, so it's a long, long way away. It's going to cost an amazing amount of money to take nine people. This contribution really helps a lot and it's wonderful that the numbers are slowly, but surely rising," Bramble stated.

She noted that Special Olympics BVI is hoping to raise $35,000 towards the trip and so far they are less than 50 percent away from their goal.
"We have had some really wonderful contributions from corporate companies which were incredibly important, but at the end of the day it comes down to if the community is willing and able to contribute to our Mile of Quarters which is our official campaign for this event," Bramble stated.
Team BVI will depart on June 17 and return on July 6.
The team comprises Akeem David, Delroy Gordon, Elsa Meyers, Glenford Gordon, Jaye Noel, Lenford Pope, Head of Delegation Lorna Dawson, Head Coach Alison Knights Bramble and Assistant Richard Chee Young.

I am not Masonic or a Lodge member, but I do read and think for myself and what I know is that NO Christian has the right to judge anyone, with all that they have done. They can try to separate themselves from the Catholic church but the FACT is they all sprang from it. And like T2DB said, I'm waiting for someone to give me the old, "your reading it wrong". Here is my question, if the word of God (Bible) is inspired word from God then should the readers be inspired also? Why go through the problem of writing it if you know it can and will be interpreted wrongly? Wouldn't the translators be inspired too? So much of what we see today we are told that, "that's not what it really meant, it got lost in translation"

How is Elsa Meyers in the Special Olympics? She graduated from Cedar School so no mental disabilities, she went to Aberystwyth Uni to do Sports, has sailed and won in many sailing races, also bicylce and running so no physical disabilities and yet she is on Special Olympics. Disability is what??... more

Catholics believe in God, are all Catholic Priests child molesters? NO! Are all BVIslanders lazy, unproductive and backwards? NO! Are all Churches, albeith they believe in 'God' the same? No! So if this is the case, why are Lodges called devil worshippers?
If I can recall correctly, this very Lodge was not only invited but given a PLATFORM at the New Life Baptist Church not too long ago! Some people bickered and moaned QUIETLY but every Sunday you have to drive carefully pass there because of how many cars parked to 'worship'. SO then, if they're devils, why haven't the 'Christians' abandoned this particular church that invited them to worship with them?
I know many Lodge men here in BVI who are ACTIVE members of MANY different churches and they don't hide the fact that they're Masons. BUT, they're not kicked out of the churches! So, if they're devilish why are they allowed in the churches when people know that they're Masons? You realise how STUPID you sound now or should I continue?

My name is Robert M. Wright, most folks call me "Storm" My opinions on the Masons are well known, have been published throughout the territory and I stand behind everything that I have ever written.
The problem that I have today is with my Cristian Brothers and Sisters who write representing the light yet still stand in the darkness on hidden names on these online news sites.
Is it that we are ashamed to speak our God based feelings? Is it that we are afraid of whatever causes us to hide? Do we serve a big God? Or has all we accuse the lodge of being run us into corners and caves.
Where are the leaders of the church? Why are they so silent on this matter? Where are the leaders on the Christian Council? Where are the leaders of the various associations who labor in God's name?
The KSA members are standing up for what they believe. They are out in the light of day.
Why can't the Christian community do the same thing . . . .Stand up for what we believe in the light of day.
If we are going to speak, let us peak out openly in faith without fear.

From the moment I saw your name even before reading the article I figured the leader of the group had something to do with your posting. These people do not hide just like the devil does not hide as he lures and tricks people into his world of deception.
You ought to read more about what this society is really about instead of being so easily brainwashed like so many others have become.

I am not on both sides of the fence as my post states I have had my views published in all of the online sites and I stand behind every word that i have ever written. I am not pro Mason. That being said we a s a body of believers need to stand up and speak our feelings. Again I ask the Christian Community and our leaders What are we afraid of? Where are our voices?
